There’s a special kind of feeling that one gets when laughing, dripping fulsome amounts of sweat, and being attacked by little people who happen to have been armed with soccer balls. Have them begin yelling at you in languages you don’t understand, and it completes the milieu. . . but that’s how the day went for me, as a bunch of Young Professionals got together in an outreach to an apartment complex filled with refugees and immigrants.
We played soccer, drew on each other, and ate some junk food, and it was wonderful. Sue, the woman from World Relief explained that Boise has over one-hundred languages spoken here, and even though we look like a bunch of whities, we really do have incredible amounts diversity in the valley.
It was fun. Relationships were established, and we’ll be able to go back soon enough and play some more, and hopefully see some lives change.
Thanks to Avalanche Photography for coming out and taking some photos today. Check out his wedding photography and book him, ’cause he’s a talented man!
